Starting an LLC? We can help!

Consider the information below and contact us for help.

1: Name Your LLC

Choose a unique and distinguishable name for your LLC. Ensure it complies with Pennsylvania's naming rules and is not already in use.

3: Articles of Organization

Prepare and file Articles of Organization with the Pennsylvania Department of State. You can do this online or by mail. The articles typically include information such as the name of the LLC, the registered office and agent, the purpose of the LLC, and the names and addresses of the organizers.

5: Employer Identification Number (EIN)

Obtain an EIN from the IRS. This is necessary for tax purposes and is often required for opening a business bank account.

7: Taxes

Understand your tax obligations. Pennsylvania has state taxes, and your LLC may also be subject to federal taxes. Consult with a tax professional to ensure compliance.

9: Business Bank Account

Open a business bank account in the name of your LLC. This helps keep your personal and business finances separate.

2: Registered Office and Agent

You need to have a physical street address in Pennsylvania where your registered office is located. You're also required to appoint a registered agent who can accept legal documents on behalf of the LLC.

4: Operating Agreement

Although not required, it's advisable to create an operating agreement. This is an internal document that outlines the ownership structure, roles, and responsibilities of members, and how the LLC will be managed. (Hire a Lawyer for this or write one yourself.)

6: Business Licenses & Permits

Check if your business requires any specific licenses or permits at the federal, state, or local level. This can vary depending on your industry and location. (We can help with this part.)

8: Annual Reporting

Pennsylvania requires LLCs to file an annual report. This can be done online, and there is a filing fee. Failure to file the report can result in penalties.

10: Insurance

Consider getting business insurance to protect your LLC from potential risks and liabilities.
